Google Search Console is a tool that gives site owners access to data about their rankings on Google. There is an ample abundance of information that can be gleaned from the Search Console such as search terms your site can be found for using a Google Search, how it ranks for those terms compared to your competitors and how many users are clicking on your site's listing. This is also a great place to check periodically, as Google will send messages via the Search Console which will let you know if there are concerns with your site, such as malware, hacking, or violations of Google's Webmaster Guidelines.
1. To create a new account, please visit https://search.google.com/search-console/about then click on Start Now. You will then be prompted to log in with a Google Account.
2. Once logged in, you can either use your full Domain or a URL Prefix. We recommend the Domain route if you are the owner of the domain.
3a. With the Domain route, you will need to add a TXT Record within your DNS provider settings. Once you've added the Text Record, click Verify.
3b. With the URL prefix route, you can verify using a few different methods and we recommend using Google Analytics or Domain name provider.
Note: We do not support the HTML File upload method.
4. Once your property has been verified, you will be able to access all the tools of Google Search Console. To learn more about Google Search Console's tools, please visit https://support.google.com/webmasters/
